Don Williams Passes Away (8 September 2017)

Don Williams

Donald Ray Williams was born 27 May 1939 in Floydada, Texas.

 

He was with the group Pozo-Seco Singers until its break-up. In 1971 Don launched his solo career, with many country #1 songs and one Top 40 song.

Troy Gentry

Troy Gentry was born 5 April 1967 in Lexington, Kentucky. In 1999 he and Eddie Montgomery signed with Columbia Records’ Nashville division and went by the name Montgomery Gentry. They had first formed in 1990 under the band name Early Tymz with younger brother John Michael Montgomery. A helicopter crash took Troy’s life on 8 September 2017.

Steely Dan co-founder Walter Becker Passes Away (3 September 2017)

Walter Carl Becker (born 20 February 1950) co-founded the jazz-rock band Steely Dan with songwriting partner Donald Fagan. He also produced “Flaunt the Imperfection” by China Crisis and “Flying Cowboys” by Rickie Lee Jones.
